H.M. Saffer

H.M. Saffer's art kept refining through his extensive travels as an artist (as well as a chef and musician!) Ever on a quest to learn more, he started to study sumi-e painting. In 1983 he went to Japan to study with sumi-e masters and met his wife Hisayo. He developed a unique style of painting and was represented by several galleries in Japan where his work became quite well known. He had over 10 solo shows in Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, and Singapore.

In 1994 H.M. returned to the United Stated. His style of painting changed from paper to oil paint. He began using his oriental influences together with his western style to create new and unique works. He has since exhibited in many galleries around the United States and Canada and has taught at the Norman Rockwell Museum in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. We are delighted to represent him at the Millbrook Gallery and Antiques.
