MILLBROOK GALLERY & ANTIQUES
Millbrook Gallery & Antiques was established by Thelma and Jeff Zwirn to bring the artist and collector together in a friendly, non-pressured atmosphere. We welcome browsers, because we believe an enthusiastic browser is very good advertising. Our artists deserve a long, appreciative look and we enjoy sharing them with our customers.
Millbrook attracts the weekender as well as country gentlepeople to its beautiful environs year round. Because there are many horsefarms and hunting clubs here, the Gallery has many rare and first edition books as well as paintings, prints, and collectibles that address those subjects.
And speaking of books, we are proud to offer a wide variety of rare books on many subjects. Equestrians will love our books illustrated by Paul Brown, George Stubbs and Lionel Edwards. Our hunters can find wonderful titles like “The Life of a Sportsman” by Nimrod and illustrated by Henry Alken, published in 1914; or “De Shootinest Gent’man” by Nash Buckingham, published in 1941.
The Millbrook Gallery also enjoys presenting many rare books on architecture, fashion, gardening, and high society. As of this writing we have a first edition of Hemingway’s “The Old Man and the Sea,” and a first US edition of Melville’s “Moby Dick.”
Clare Bridge, Gabrielle Vallarino and Birdi Davis offer very different approaches to handmade jewelry. Ms. Bridges works with sterling silver on an anvil, creating wearable works of art. Ms. Davis has a collection of vintage pieces that she has put together in one-of-a-kind jewelry. We also offer you her collections of vintage clothes and accessories. Ms. Vallarino's pieces combine a keen eye for design with quality stones from the U.S. and abroad.
Jeff and Thelma Zwirn also run the Millbrook Antiques Mall. It has been a staple for antique lovers for over 25 years. With over 5000 square feet and a variety of vendors, the mall draws homeowners and designers from the tri-state area, as well as being a delight for tourists from all over the world.
